After a very long break from film photography, I bought a used medium format film camera and dove back in head first. At first it felt clumsy and fussy but I hung on, and now shooting film again has changed how I see and what I see. It has slowed me down.
We no longer live in an analog world and film is having a renaissance. I would try harder to articulate why shooting film is so special, why you should accept low hit rates per roll, the expense of it and having to wait, but I’m just enjoying the joy right now.

In November 2017 my husband and I traveled with Linblad-National Geographic to Santiago Chile, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia Island, Antarctica and Ushuaia, Argentina. Spring in the Southern Ocean was exploding with animal life, and the landscapes were so vast and so utterly wild. I daydream about the trip all the time. I look at photos again and again. I hope to return.
